Adding or removing a patient's access to the patient portal or CHR Connect
Updated yesterday

You can control which patients can connect with you via the patient portal or CHR Connect by enabling or disabling their access.

Regardless of whether your clinic uses the patient portal or CHR Connect, you use the same setting to grant or remove access.

When you remove a patient's access to CHR Connect, they can connect to your clinic but cannot book appointments or initiate messages. They can perform all other actions, including completing Qnaires, and rescheduling or canceling appointments. The same applies if you remove access for a patient's dependent.

💡 Tip: You can set a default access for new patients. Refer to Enabling and customizing the patient portal.

Steps

1. Open the patient's chart. Refer to Searching for patients.

2. From the Patient dashboard view, at the top of the window, click Update Information.

3. Click the Portal tab.

4. Under Access to patient portal, select On or Off to enable or disable portal access.

5. Click Save.
