Ontario: Using OHIP health card readers in the CHR
In Ontario, you can swipe patients’ OHIP cards using a swipe card reader to add patients to the CHR, update existing patients’ demographic information, or simply open the patient’s chart.
As of version 21.17.1, we can confirm compatibility with the following card reader models: MagTek 21073062, Unitech MS246, and ID Tech IDMB-334133B.
📌 Note: The magnetic card reader must be a Keyboard Emulation type. HID Interface card readers (another type) do not work.

PEI: Billing updates
In PEI, we updated the definition of a weekend premium in the CHR when billing. The weekend premium now applies only to Saturday and Sunday and no longer to Friday evenings or Monday early mornings. We also updated the 2022 statutory holidays so that premiums are added automatically when billing on holidays.
Fixes
Below is a list of bugs we identified and fixed in this release. For more information, contact our TELUS Health support team.
When moving Pathways cards through a transition, a validation no longer triggers a server error and does not require you to refresh the page to move the card.
With Virtual Visits 1.0, when patients want to disable or enable the camera during virtual calls, they no longer see the wording videocam_mic where the camera and microphone icons usually display.

No preparation is required in advance of the update. All CHR update activities are managed by TELUS Health via a zero-downtime rolling deployment in the CHR’s cloud infrastructure, which allows the system to operate without interruption of service during updates.
No data migration is required as part of this update.
