Generating a PDF copy of a Workers' Compensation Board form (Alberta)
Updated over a week ago

When you fill in a Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) form as part of a WCB claim (refer to Creating Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) first report) after you save or submit the claim, you can generate a PDF copy of the Worker copy or Physician copy of an Alberta WCB form (C050E, C151, C050S, C151S). This allows you to view, print, fax or save a copy of the form.

📌 Notes:

  • If you created the claim in an encounter note, you must sign the encounter note and have the form in a Ready status to generate the PDF.

  • When a WCB claim is processed, and has a Submitted status in the CHR, the generated Physician copy of the WCB report is automatically saved to the Patient Files section of the patient's chart.

    • Only the PDF reports C050E C151 C050S C151S are autosaved.

    • The file name is AB WCB Form <form type> <payment ID> <submission date>.

Steps

1. Open the saved or submitted WBC bill from:

  • The Insured Billing area of the patient's chart

  • The encounter

  • The Visits dashboard or

  • The Billing dashboard

2. Beside WCB form status, click the Print icon.

If your account is set up to do so, you're prompted to select a cover page.

3. To include a cover page on the PDF, select the cover page; otherwise, leave None selected and click Save. The PDF preview is generated.

4. At the top of the PDF preview you can choose to Download, Print, Email or Fax the PDF.

5. To add a copy of the PDF report to the patient's chart:

a) Click Download. The file is saved to your computer's Downloads folder.

b) Upload the file from your computer to the patient's chart. Refer to Uploading patient files.
