Improvements

Deleting patient data entries

If a patient data entry is made in error, for example a typo or entered on the wrong patient, you can now delete the incorrect value from the Patient Data section of the chart. The deleted value no longer appears in the history of that data point or in flowsheets, graphs, growth charts or templates (encounters, letters, etc). You can delete any patient data value, except those under Demographics. For example, vitals or preventive care.

To delete a data point entry, from the patient's chart, click Patient Data then click the history icon next to the data point you want to delete.

In the History window, hover over the value you want to delete, and click the trash can icon.

📌 Note: You must have the Patient chart/Encounter accessibility controls permission to delete a patient data point. Also, you cannot restore a deleted data point.

For more information, refer to Deleting patient data entries.

Adding a short name for your favourite medications

You can now include a short form name for your favourite medications. The short name appears along with the full medication name when viewing your favourites from My Favourites or when searching for a medication when prescribing. This allows you to more easily identify the appropriate favourite in the list.

For existing favourites, add the Favourite Display Name from Settings > Prescription> My Favourite Medications. When creating a new favourite, you can add the Favourite Display Name at that time.

📌 Note: The Favourite Display Name has a maximum of 25 characters.

Setting a single inbox for all electronic labs

You can now configure all electronic labs to be directed to one inbox instead of the ordering provider, or all CC’d providers on the lab. The single inbox must be an existing provider's inbox. This is helpful for clinics that share patients between multiple providers.

From the main menu, click Settings > Labs. Next to your lab integration, click Edit. Under Default Recipient, select the provider’s inbox you want to use as the single inbox and under Recipients Policy, select Single Inbox. For more information, refer to Configuring lab integrations.

📌 Note: This setting requires the Setup lab integration permission.

Alberta: Saving favourite functional centres for billing

When creating HLink bills, you can now save your most commonly used functional centres. Click the star to add a functional centre to your favourites. When you click the Functional Centre field, all of your favourites appear and are at the top of the list when searching.

PEI: Location-based access

⚠️ Important: This feature must be enabled by TELUS Health, so the changes may not be immediately visible in your system. Your EMR Program will send further communication when this feature is available.

Identifying the location of encounters

You can now associate a location to your encounter notes. In the Encounters section of a patient’s chart you can filter by All Locations or locations you are a member of. This allows you to quickly find all encounters for that patient at your location. When filtering by All Locations, you also see encounters with no location set.

💡 Tip: By default you don't see the Location column in the Encounters section; click the gear icon to add it.

The encounter's Location defaults to the linked appointment's location. If there is no linked appointment, the Location is set to the location the provider is currently signed in under. You can also manually add or edit the location by clicking the Location field in the encounter.

PEI: PrescribeIT: Improvements to adding and updating pharmacies from the Provider Registry

📌 Note: PrescribeIT® is currently available only for TELUS CHR users in PEI. It will be more widely available in the future.

When searching for a pharmacy in your contacts, if there is PrescribeIT®-enabled pharmacy that does not exist in your local contacts, or if the information you have in your local contacts does not match the Provider Registry, a new Check for Provider Registry updates icon appears instead of the previous Add and Update buttons.

Click the icon to either add the pharmacy to the CHR or compare what you have in the CHR with the information in the Provider Registry.

If there is more than one potential match between your local contacts and the Provider Registry, all possible matches are now displayed.

Additionally, the window comparing the information between the CHR and the Provider Registry has been redesigned to make it easier to compare the differences.
