If your clinic is enabled for the Client Registry (refer to Configuring the Client Registry (AB), you can validate if the patient chart in the local CHR is synced with the Client Registry.
Your patient's demographics may be out of sync with the Client Registry when:
The patient is new (you just entered the patient’s demographic information for the first time).
The patient has not visited your clinic in over one year.
The patient has not had their demographic information verified with the Client Registry in over one year.
You change some of the patient’s demographic information.
You must first be logged into the Client Registry (refer to Connecting to the Client Registry (AB).
Steps
Search for the patient (refer to Searching for patients).
2. In the patient header bar, click Sync patient to pull the information from the Client Registry.
📌Note: The Sync patient button is only available when you connect to the Client Registry.
3. The Review and update patient window opens. You can keep the local CHR data or overwrite it with the information from the Client Registry.
📌Note: The Eligibility effective date (AB) field is enabled by default when the Client Registry data does not match the local CHR record.
4. Compare the patient’s demographic information to ensure your CHR information is consistent with the Client Registry.
5. Under Update, select the checkbox beside the demographic data to update.
💡Tip: To quickly update all demographic data at once, select the checkbox beside Update.
6. Click Confirm to apply the updates.
📌Note: You cannot update the Client Registry with your local information from the CHR. If you see that the patient’s Client Registry demographic information is inaccurate, inform the patient to contact Alberta Health.
