Improvements

Searching for items in the inbox

📌 Note: TELUS Health must manually enable this feature following the release. It could take up to 24 hours before you see the functionality.

With the new Search field in the inbox, you can now easily search for specific inbox items by their Summary (title, preview of messages or comments, and attachments name). The CHR searches in all selected user inboxes, and any selected filters remain applied.

Similar to the other filters, the CHR remembers your last search terms as you switch between inboxes, apply other filters, or when you navigate away from the inbox or log out of the CHR. Your search is also saved when you create personal filter views.

For more information, refer to Filtering and searching the inbox.

Obstetrical care data included in patient merge

When merging patient records, the CHR now transfers all data in the Obstetrical care section of the Health Profile from the duplicate patient to the target patient, ensuring no pregnancy data is lost during the merge process.

All past and current pregnancy records, including pregnancy results, are copied to the target patient chart. If both patients have a current pregnancy, the one from the duplicate chart is added to past pregnancies.

Obstetrical history data is recorded in an admin note; no change is made to the target patient’s obstetrical history. The admin note includes both current and historical values from the duplicate patient so you can review the information and manually make changes in the health profile if needed.

For more information, refer to Merging patient charts.

Alberta: Manually applying payments to WCB fee items

You can now manually apply payments to Alberta WCB fee items that have been in the Submitted status for over 30 days. This is useful for claims that require special handling or manual review by WCB since payment information doesn't appear in the standard remittance file.

To add a payment, open the bill and click the Apply Correction icon next to the fee item. In the window that appears, enter the payment amount, and enter a reason in the Explanation field (e.g. the reference number). This enhancement makes it easier to track payments accurately.

Manitoba: Fee item limit in insured bills

To comply with Manitoba Health billing requirements, you can now add a maximum of 29 fee items per insured bill. When you exceed the limit, a validation error appears immediately. This ensures your claims meet provincial specifications and helps avoid submission errors that could delay payment processing.

eClaims: Submitting eClaims for laboratory tests

Clinics using TELUS Health eClaims can now submit eClaims for lab tests using the new Laboratory practitioner role.

In Settings > TELUS eClaims, when you add or edit an Independent practitioner, select Laboratory as their Role. The License Number and License Issuer fields become optional, accommodating users who do not have medical licenses.

When creating eClaims and selecting the Laboratory practitioner profile, the CHR automatically displays only laboratory-specific fee codes.

Fixes

  • In referrals, user profile pictures are once again displayed correctly in the Ordering Provider and Service Provider fields.

  • When exporting patient charts or attaching documents from a patient chart, the Select All button works reliably and all items in the tab are selected.

  • When you send a message to another user and snooze it, the snooze action is correctly attributed to you (the sender) rather than the recipient.

  • When reviewing a patient Qnaire and editing answers to Family History questions, the Relationship field now populates with the existing value.

  • In the Referrals dashboard, you can drag and drop to reorder referrals when the sort option is set to Default and Descending.

  • When you create a patient, if you don’t select the patient’s primary location, the CHR automatically assigns the primary location from Settings > Account Information > Locations.

  • In the inbox, when you select a custom date range for the Done filter, the CHR now preserves your selection when switching between statuses, or when navigating away from the inbox or logging out.

  • When editing email notification templates, the Message field now displays correctly for all notifications. Previously, when the text was copied from Word documents, it could prevent the editor from loading properly.

  • When you adjust a fee item paid amount to the billed amount, you can now successfully update and resubmit a refused fee item on the same bill; the system no longer displays a locked billing item error.

  • In Tasks, both the date and time of start dates and due dates are now correctly displayed in the clinic's configured time zone. Previously, if your device was set to a different time zone, dates reflected your time zone and could appear one day ahead, while times reflected the clinic’s time zone.

  • You can no longer select users without the Tasks: Add or view tasks permission in the Assignee field in task templates or when editing existing tasks.

  • For clinics with role-based access control, after you create a resource set for Users and filter by Specific Resources, the list of resource sets displays a proper summary of the configured resources instead of showing "no summary".

📌 Note: New CHR versions are released on a regular bi-weekly schedule. However, there are times where a fix is released prior to the next scheduled release. These off-schedule release fixes are documented in the separate off-schedule release notes.
