When you record encounter notes, in the Examination area, you can record the patient's vitals and measurements without having to open the Patient Data area of the chart. When you sign the encounter, the vitals and measurements are added to Patient Data.

Steps

1. Start an encounter for the patient. See Starting an encounter.

2. At the top of the Examination area, click Add Vitals.

The vitals and measurements entry fields display in a table format.

3. In one or more of the entry fields, type the patient's values. For example, you can enter height, weight, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature and O2 saturation.

💡 Tips:

When you sign the encounter, the vitals and measurements are added to the Patient Data area of the patient's chart.
