Adding measurements to growth charts

⚠️ Important: This is currently a beta feature, available to a few CHR beta users in order to test and provide feedback. It will be available to more users once the beta period is complete.

Height, weight, and head circumference measurements entered in an encounter’s vitals table, a Qnaire, or Patient Data are automatically added to the patient’s growth chart.

You can also manually add height, weight, and head circumference directly to the growth chart. To edit or delete measurements, update the values in the Patient Data section of the patient's chart. Refer to Viewing and updating entries in the patient data section.

Steps

1. Open the patient’s growth chart. Refer to Viewing growth charts.

2. At the bottom of the growth chart table, click Add entry.

3. Confirm the patient’s Age and Date, and change them if required. If you change either value, the other automatically adjusts accordingly.

📌 Note: You cannot select a date in the future. The patient's date of birth determines which measurement dates are available.

4. Enter the applicable measurements: Weight, Height, and Head Circ.

📌 Note: The graph and table use the units of measurement set in your user preferences. Refer to Modifying your user preferences.

5. Select the blue checkmark to save the entry, or select X to cancel without saving.

The new measurements appear in the table and are plotted on the graph. For patients aged 2 or older, if you entered weight and height the BMI is automatically calculated and displayed in the table.
