Integrating your CHR account with Alberta H-Link
Integrating your CHR account with Alberta H-Link
Updated today

TELUS Health offers an AHCIP billing service as part of your CHR license subscription. You create insured bills in the CHR and submit them to H-Link. After AHCIP processes your bills (claims), they're automatically updated in the CHR.

As part of your CHR subscription fees, you can:

  • Create claims in the CHR

  • Submit claims to AHCIP through the H-Link system

  • View and process remittances (claim responses) received from AHCIP

If your CHR has not yet been configured for Alberta billing, contact the TELUS Health support team through the in-app support bubble (refer to Contact us). Our team will help you manage this project by getting the required information from AHCIP and setting up the billing integration as soon as possible. Note that it could take a few weeks to get everything needed to get you started.

To set up a new provider with H-Link, contact the TELUS Health support team and provide them with information on the provider joining your clinic and their expected start date.

The following information is required:

  • Access token and Submitter prefix (provided by the Ministry)

  • Provider's billing number (no dashes, 9 characters maximum)

  • Business arrangement (BA) numbers

  • Skill code

  • Facility

  • Functional center

  • Any additional settings by location, for example when adding service codes to a bill, the Other Location field can auto-populate.

  • If you bill for the Primary Care Physician Compensation Model, your PCPCM BA number and which BA number you would like as your default. Providers can bill either under their Business Arrangement for Fee-For-Service (FFS BA) or PCPCM BA. You choose a default BA number to avoid selecting it each time you bill.

💡 Tip: The configured skill code and facility are used by default when you create a bill. You can always modify them in a bill, or contact support to request changes to your default skill code and facility.

📌 Note: If the provider started creating bills before their H-Link integration, you can still submit these bills afterwards by linking each bill to their newly integrated billing practitioner. Refer to Submitting provincial bills created prior to H-Link integration.
