Manually importing electronic labs

You can manually import electronic lab files to your TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) domain. The CHR accepts HL7, txt, or zip file extensions. Your lab integration should automatically import electronic labs from the lab vendors, but there may be a need to manually upload a lab on demand. You cannot add individual lab results via free text within the CHR.

You can import lab files from the following vendors:

  • Gamma Dynacare (QC, ON and MB)

  • eHealth DI

  • eHealth Lab

  • Excelleris (BC and ON)

  • Interior Health Meditech

  • MDS (LifeLabs)

  • OLIS

  • Generic (Mirth)

  • Alpha

Steps

  1. From the main menu, click Settings > Labs.

  2. Under Lab Import, choose a Lab Distributor from the list.

  3. Click the paperclip icon and Upload your HL7 or Zip file.

  4. To automatically mark the lab as done and update all inbox items date as collected date, select the Historical check box.

  5. Select All Receivable or Ordering Only.

    📌 Note: All Receivable includes the ordering provider and anyone CC'd on the report or listed under report to on the lab requisition.

  6. Click Import. The lab(s) are now uploaded to the inbox.
