Updating Clinical Content Library forms
Updated over 2 months ago

๐Ÿ“Œ Note: To perform this action, you must have the Templates: Forms permission. Refer to User permissions.

When a new version of a Clinical Content Library form template is made available, it appears in the Updates tab of the templates section. A red alert on the Settings menu option alerts you of new forms.

๐Ÿ“Œ Notes:

  • You can see the number of available form updates on the Templates tab.

  • When using a non-custom form and a new version is available, a clock icon appears to the left of the version number.

The Clinical Content Library contains hundreds of the most commonly used forms. For more information on adding new forms, refer to Adding a new form using the Clinical Content Library.

๐Ÿ“Œ Note: The library does not include forms explicitly created by or for your clinic.

Unmodified Clinical Content Library forms automatically update on a set date, but you can also manually update them. Manually updating the Clinical Content Library form templates allows you to first review the changes and update autofill templates. In the Updates tab, they show Replacing in XX days.

If you have modified a Clinical Content Library form, for example edited a variable, you must review and update it manually. In the Updates tab, the form shows Replace manually.

โš ๏ธ Important: Updates are only available for forms imported from the Clinical Content Library, not for forms developed for your clinic or a copy of an imported form. You can distinguish a Clinical Content Library form by the gear icon or version number.

Steps

1. From the main menu, click Settings > Templates > Updates, and the Updates section opens.

2. Click Review beside the form you want to update. The form opens in the Review and update window.

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: Yellow variables have been updated, green variables are new, and red variables have been removed.

3. In the Updates section to the right of the form preview, visually review all the changes to the form. If needed, click the Compare tab to see both form versions side by side.

๐Ÿ“Œ Note: You cannot change the form until it has been added to your CHR.

4. If you have autofill templates configured, click the Set autofills tab to update any new or modified autofill fields.

๐Ÿ“Œ Note: Any autofill fields that have not been modified are automatically transferred to the new version.

5. If you have not modified the form, click Update to import the new version. If you have outstanding autofill fields, a warning appears; otherwise the form is uploaded to your CHR. The original version is automatically archived.

6. If you have modified the original form template, click Add to library. A Template added dialog appears.

  • If you want to accept the form as-is, click Cancel.

  • To re-customize the new form template with your original modifications, click Okay, and a new form template window appears.

  • Archive your original form manually. For more information, refer to Archiving form templates.

๐Ÿ“Œ Note: If the Clinical Content Library form is archived, you no longer receive updates for that form.
