Updating your user personal information (with license management enabled)

πŸ“ŒNote: The new license management system only applies to clinics with standard TELUS Health CHR contracts; custom or Input Health contracts are excluded.

You can modify your name, credentials, email address or other user profile information in the Profile area of TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR).

πŸ“Œ Note: Users with administrative permissions in the CHR can also update some of this information for you. Refer to Updating a user's general profile information and settings (with license management enabled).

Steps

1. At the top of the main menu, click your avatar image.

2. Click Profile. Your Personal information window opens.

At the top, you can view and update your profile picture. Refer to Updating your CHR

The following information is also available:

  • Your title and display name

  • Your email address

  • Your position

  • If you are a clinical trainee, your expected date of training

  • If you are a locum, the name of the professional you are replacing, and your locum periods

3. In the Profile Information area, using the following table, modify your information and settings as needed.

Field

Description

First name

Type your first name as you want it to display in the CHR and in letters, referrals, prescriptions, etc.

Middle name

Type your middle name as you want it to display in the CHR and in letters, referrals, prescriptions, etc.

Last name

Type your last name as you want it to display in the CHR and in letters, referrals, prescriptions, etc.

Title

To have a title (for example, Dr.) display in front of your name in the CHR and in letters, referrals, prescriptions, etc., in the list, select the title.

Display name

Type your name as you want it to display in the CHR and in letters, referrals, prescriptions, etc.

Credentials

To have your credentials (for example, MD) display beside your name in the CHR and in letter/prescription headers, type your credentials.

To have these credentials appear in letter and prescriptions footers as well, select the Include credentials in footers check box.

Gender

Gender is only applicable if you use CHR Connect and have The patient's practitioner of choice selected in the Appointment Type settings.

To allow patients to choose a provider of their preferred sex when booking an appointment online, select your sex in the list. This is helpful if you offer sensitive appointment types, such as mental health counseling or gynecology.

The provider's sex does not appear in the eBooking window, however the patient can Filter providers by gender.

Email

Type your email address.

πŸ“Œ Note: This is the email address you use to log into the CHR. Also, if you reset your password, the CHR sends the reset link to this email.

Phone number

To have a phone number that is different from the clinic's default phone number display in your electronic forms/requisitions, letter headers, prescriptions, referrals, etc.

Fax number

To have a fax number that is different from the clinic's default fax number display in your electronic forms/requisitions, letter headers, prescriptions, referrals, etc.

Occupation /

Medical Specialty

The occupation and medical specialty selected in your user account. These fields only appear if the information is available, and cannot be modified.

Position

Type your role or position in the clinic. For example, Physician.

πŸ“Œ Note: Using variables, your Position can be pulled into electronic forms, letters and other templates. Also, if you're a provider, and you allow patients to book appointments with you online, patients can see your position when choosing a provider to book with.

Type

User type (Practitioner or Staff)

πŸ“Œ Notes:

  • The user type determines the default permissions the user has in the CHR.

  • Only users with the Upgrade Type Classification permission can update this field.

Type Classification

Type of license for practitioners (standard, locum or clinical trainee). Hover over the information icon for a description of each type.

πŸ“Œ Notes:

  • Only users with the Upgrade Type Classification permission can update this field.

  • Standard practitioners cannot be converted to a Clinical trainee.

Tax number

If you bill patients or third parties directly for services or products, and want your GST/HST number to display on your invoices, in this field, type your default tax number.

License number

Type your professional license number.

Billing number

Type your billing or reference number.

Biography (for eBooking)

To have your biography or a welcome message display to your patients when they book appointments online or fill in Qnaires, type your bio or welcome message.

Spoken languages (for eBooking)

To specify the languages you speak:

a) Under Spoken languages, click + Language, and then choose a language.

b) Repeat for each language you speak.

πŸ“Œ Note: If you're a provider, and you allow patients to book appointments with you online, patients can see what languages you speak when choosing a provider to book with.

4. Click Save profile.

5. Refresh your browser for the changes to take effect.
