๐Note: The new license management system only applies to clinics with standard TELUS Health CHR contracts; custom or Input Health contracts are excluded.
If you have the permissions to Edit Other Users in the TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR), you can modify any user's name, credentials, email, license and billing number, as well as other general profile information and settings.
๐ Note: Each user can modify most of this information (and more) for themselves in their Profile area of the CHR. Refer to Updating your user personal information (with license management enabled).
Steps
1. From the main menu, click Settings > Account information. The Account information window opens.
๐ก Tip: Use the search bar above the list of members to quickly find active or deactivated members.
2. In the Active members list, click the Edit icon beside the user you want to modify. The user's settings window opens.
3. In the General tab, using the following table, modify the user's information and settings as needed.
๐Note: For service accounts, only the First Name, Last Name, Display Name, Email, Type and Has Access to fields are available.
Field | Description |
Title | To display a title (for example, Dr.) in front of their name in the CHR and in letters, referrals, prescriptions, etc., in the list, select the title. |
Credentials | To have the user's credentials (such as MD) displayed beside their name in the CHR and in letter/prescription headers, type their credentials. |
Type the user's email address.
๐ Note: This is the email the user uses to log into the CHR. Also, if they reset their password, the CHR sends the reset link to this email. | |
Display Name | Type the user's name as you want it to display in the CHR and in letters, referrals, prescriptions, etc. |
Position | Type their position or role in the clinic, such as Physician.
๐ Note: Using variables, their Position can be pulled into electronic forms, letters and other templates. |
Type | Select Practitioner, Staff or Service Account as the user type.

Type Classification | Type of license for practitioners (standard, locum or clinical trainee). Hover over the information icon for a description of each classification.
If you change the classification, warning messages can appear to inform you of how the user will be impacted. For example, changing a clinical traineeโs classification will end their training period, and changing a locumโs classification will end all active locum periods.

๐Note: Standard practitioners cannot be converted to a Clinical trainee. |
Locum | If the practitioner has Locum as their Type Classification, you can add, edit or remove a locum period.
If you edit an active locum, select one of the following actions:
If you terminate the active locum period, the provider loses access to the CHR immediately.

Expected End of Training | If the practitioner has Clinical trainee as their Type Classification, you can add or edit their expected end of training date.
๐Note: The user will continue to have access to the CHR two weeks after the defined end of training date. |
Occupation | From the list, select the user's occupation (such as Registered Nurse).
๐ Note: If Medical Doctor or Resident is selected, a Medical Specialty field displays below Occupation. |
License Number | Type the user's professional license number. |
Billing Number | Type the user's billing or reference number.
๐Note: This field is greyed out for clinical trainees. |
Province/State | From the list, select the state or province the user is practicing in. |
Licensing Body | From the list, select the user's licensing body (e.g. College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta etc.).
The licensing bodies available in the list depend on the province selected. For provinces that do not have any licensing bodies, this field displays as a text field and cannot be edited. |
Biography (For eBooking) | To have the user's biography or a welcome message display to patients when they fill in Qnaires, type the bio or welcome message. |
Landing Page | In the list, select the area of the CHR that should open for the user by default each time they log in. |
Has Access to | Inbox: Select to enable the user to receive messages in their own inbox.
Schedule: Select to create a schedule for the user.
๐ Note: This option is available only if the Type is Practitioner or Service Account. |
๐ Note: This field appears only if your clinic is using CHR Connect. | Defaults to Yes. This indicates that CHR Connect is enabled for the user.
Select No to disable CHR Connect for this user. |
4. At the bottom of the window, click Submit.
