CHR Release notes - version 26.22

November 4, 2026

Improvements

Main menu redesign

📌 Note: TELUS Health must manually enable this feature following the release. To ensure a smooth transition, the feature will be rolled out gradually over the next several weeks.

The main CHR menu has a new look, with updated icons, and a cleaner, more consistent layout.

On smaller screens, additional modules now collapse into a More options (three dots) menu, keeping everything accessible. Icons for Schedules and Settings (gear icon) have been updated, and you can navigate the menu using your keyboard.

Agentic AI: Introducing the task agent

The task AI agent automatically detects follow-up actions documented in an encounter note, such as treatment plans or scheduling needs, and suggests relevant tasks to create based on your clinic's existing task templates.

When the agent identifies information matching a pre-configured task template, it displays an AI suggestion in the Tasks section of the encounter and fills the task name and summary along with the prebuilt template fields.

For more information, refer to Using the task AI agent.

Agentic AI: Introducing the referral letter agent

The referral letter AI agent detects when a referral may be needed during an encounter and suggests referral letters to create, saving you time and reducing the effort of drafting letters from scratch.

When the agent identifies relevant referral information, it displays an AI suggestion in the Referral section of the encounter. The AI agent drafts the letter based on encounter content using our default AI referral letter template.

Your administrator can also configure a different default template, and specialty-specific templates and recipients to standardize referral workflows by medical specialty. The AI agent then automatically selects the appropriate template and recipient based on those settings and the specialty identified in the encounter.

📌Note: The configured templates and recipients also apply when you generate a referral letter using AI writing tools from encounters.

For more information, refer to Using the referral letter AI agent.

Agentic AI: Redesigned AI suggestions in encounters

AI suggestions no longer appear as inline badges within each encounter section. Instead, each section displays a count tag in its header indicating how many suggestions are available. Click a tag to open the AI copilot panel on the right, where you can review all suggestions in one place.

You can also click the suggestion counter in the encounter footer to open the same AI copilot panel.

Agentic AI: Manually triggering AI suggestions in encounters

By default, all AI agents in encounters are now triggered manually using the Run agents button in the encounter header. Clicking it saves any pending changes and opens the AI copilot panel, where you can see the list of suggestions from all AI agents your clinic has enabled.

However, agents can be individually configured to run automatically for your clinic. Go to Settings > AI-Powered Features > AI features tab, and enable the Automate toggle for the relevant agents in the Patient chart section. Refer to Configuring encounter agents run settings for more information.

CHR AI-Powered: AI features settings reorganized into tabs

The AI-Powered Features settings page has been separated into a new tab layout. In the Analytics tab, you can monitor your clinic's usage and time savings. The AI features tab displays all settings that have been reorganized into clearly labeled sections.

For more information, refer to Configuring CHR AI-powered features settings.

British Columbia: Correcting claims refused as duplicates

📌Note: TELUS Health must manually enable this feature following the release. It could take up to 24 hours before the functionality is available.

When claims are submitted to Teleplan, connection issues can occasionally cause a claim to be submitted twice. The single bill in the CHR is refused as a duplicate (error code HX) even though it was paid.

You can now correct these bills to mark them as paid. In the bill, use the Apply Correction tool to enter the payment amount and an explanation. Once the corrections are applied, your bill accurately reflects its paid status in the CHR.

PEI: Applying the holiday premium to fee code 9360

For the fee code 9360 (On-call response fee), the 25% weekend and holiday premium is now applied correctly on holidays until 8 AM the following day.

Fixes

  • In the redesigned letter editor, when you apply a template to a letter that already contains an appointment date variable from an encounter note, the appointment date now displays correctly instead of showing as invalid.

  • In the dashboard Quick Menu, all section icons now match the icons used in the main navigation Menu.

  • When sorting patient files by uploaded date, lab results now sort correctly alongside other file types based on their actual date, instead of always appearing at the top of the list.

  • In Patient Data custom fields, unit suffixes that contain a number (such as kg/m2 or cm2) now display correctly.

  • In Settings > Account information > Groups, deactivated user accounts no longer appear in the group member list.

  • Alberta: You can once again resubmit a partially paid or paid-at-zero billing item (Adjusted status). Previously, resubmit options could be unavailable for billing items that were also Held by AHCIP.
