Creating provincial bills (Alberta)
Updated over a year ago

In the CHR, you use Insured Billing to create provincial (AHCIP) bills. When bills are complete, you can submit them to H-Link by setting their status to Ready to Submit. The CHR submits all bills with a status of Ready to Submit to H-Link as a batch twice a day, at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. MT.

⚠️ Important: Before you can bill AHCIP through the CHR, the provider's user account must be integrated with H-Link. See Integrating your CHR account with H-Link.

You can create insured bills from:

  • an encounter (for providers who want to bill during/after each visit)

  • the Visits dashboard (for staff or providers who want to bill from a list of appointments)

  • the patient's chart (for staff or providers who want to bill services without a visit or encounter - e.g. hospital visits)

  • the Billing dashboard (for staff or providers who want to bill services without a visit or encounter - e.g. hospital visits)
