You can quickly create insured, private bills, or TELUS Health eClaims from the billing dashboard without having to first open the patient's chart. This is especially helpful for creating bills outside of an encounter or repetitive billing.
💡 Tip: If you often create the same bill for multiple patients, you can create billing templates to even further speed up your billing process. For more information, refer to Creating billing templates.
📌 Note: To perform this action, you must have Billing Dashboard and Quick Bill Entry permissions. Refer to User permissions.
Steps
1. From the Billing dashboard, click Quick Bill Entry at the top-left corner and the patient search window opens.
2. In the Search for a Patient field, search for the patient you would like to create the bill for. For more information, refer to Searching for patients.
💡 Tip: If you have any patient charts open, those patients already display in the list .
3. Depending on the type of bill you need to create, beside the patient's name, click +Private Billing or +Insured Billing. The New Bill or New Insured Payment window opens.
4. Create the bill as you normally do. For more information refer to:
Creating eClaims from patient charts
⚠️ Important: eClaims is currently a beta feature, available to a few CHR beta users in order to test and provide feedback. It will be available to more users once the beta period is complete.
5. Click Save. If there are any errors, a Validation Error appears as it normally would when creating bills from the patient chart. If the bill is completed, a Billing saved notification appears.
📌 Note: The patient search window remains open, allowing you to quickly search for the next patient.
