New Preventive Care Report dashboard

For clinics in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Ontario using Analytics, our new national Preventive Care Report dashboard has replaced your province-specific dashboards. The unified dashboard aggregates data from multiple sources - patient files, lab results, patient data, forms, and injections. The report shows compliance percentages for each provider and lists of compliant and non-compliant patients. You can customize the filters to adjust what you consider is up-to-date for each test.

Compliance is assessed by checking patient-specific exclusions first, followed by individual alert intervals, and then provincial guidelines.

For more information, refer to our Preventive care management help topics.

Viewing all health profile entries in templates

When using Health Profile variables in templates to populate medical conditions, surgical history, family history, social history, risk factors, and obstetrical care information in letters, encounters, or messages, the number of entries that are included is no longer limited. This applies to both table and list format variables in the Health Profile section.

Previously, these variables displayed only 15 entries per section.

Adding and editing bilingual appointment types

If you have French enabled in your CHR, when creating or editing appointment types in Settings > Scheduling, you can enter appointment type names and short and long descriptions in both English and French.

Once configured, the appointment types display in your current language across all areas of the CHR.

Patients can also view appointment types and descriptions in their preferred language when booking appointments in the patient portal or CHR Connect.

For more information, refer to Creating and modifying appointment types.

Redesigned inbox: Previewing latest document comments

For clinics using the redesigned inbox, you can now view the latest comments made by a user for files, faxes, and labs directly in your Inbox. The Summary column displays a snippet of the most recent comment below the document name, helping you quickly identify important comments without opening the document.

Hover over the document name to view the full text of the comment, as well as a date and time stamp of when the comment was made.

Redesigned inbox: Saving filter views

For clinics using the redesigned inbox, you can now save your most-used filters, creating consistency and saving time. For example, if you review all new referrals and faxes simultaneously, you can save a View to display only unread items of those types.

Views appear in the top-left corner of your inbox; the currently selected view’s name appears for reference. The inbox comes with a pre-built view called My inbox, it shows your inbox’s Active items. This is set as the default view, but you can change it. The default view is used when you click Reset.

To save a View, set your desired filters, and in the top-left corner click Save. To change the view, click the View list and select the one you want to use; the configured filters for that view are automatically applied. Additionally, you can edit and delete your views. For more information, refer to Saving inbox filter views (redesigned Inbox).

📌 Note: Views are user-specific.

Redesigned inbox: Filtering by relative dates

For clinics using the redesigned inbox, when you filter your Inbox by Date, you can now set Relative dates such as Last 30 days in addition to Specific dates or date ranges.

These relative date options are useful in saved filter views, as the dates update automatically to show the right date range based on the current date. For example, if you save a Last 7 days filter, it will always show items from the past week, no matter when you use it.

Click Date > Relative and choose a preset option from the list, or create a custom date range using days, weeks, months, or years.

For more information, refer to Filtering the inbox (redesigned Inbox).

AI-powered inbox: Enhanced patient matching for incoming documents

For clinics using the CHR AI-powered inbox, we've improved the CHR's ability to match incoming documents to patients with name structures like "John Joe Smith" (multiple first names) or "Maria Garcia-Lopez" (hyphenated last names). The matching process is now more flexible and can better recognize various name formats, reducing the need for manual patient searches.

CHR Connect: Confirming non-marketing content of campaigns

For clinics using CHR Connect Pro, to help ensure you comply with anti-spam laws when sending important operational messages to patients through the CHR Connect app, you can now confirm that your in-app campaigns don't contain marketing content.

When creating or editing the message template in a campaign, select the checkbox to verify the non-marketing nature of your message. We included a link to Canada’s anti-spam legislation information (CASL) for your reference.

📌Note: Non-marketing messages will reach all patients, regardless of their marketing consent preferences, while marketing content will only be visible to patients who have opted in to receive such communications.

PrescribeIT®: Managing attachments in pharmacy communications

📌Note: PrescribeIT® is currently available only for a select few TELUS CHR users. It will be more widely available in the future.

When you add an attachment from your computer to a pharmacy message, you no longer need to save it to the patient’s chart before sending it. When sending a message to a pharmacy, attachments are now automatically saved to the patient's chart after the message has been successfully sent. If you cancel the message, no files are saved to the patient's chart.

When you receive a message from a pharmacy, you can now save attached documents directly to the patient's chart by clicking Save into patient files. Previously, you needed to download and manually upload attachments.

📌Note: Any attached documents saved to the patient's chart include the description Added via a pharmacy communication message.

Fixes

  • In Patients, when you search for a patient, your search type selection (e.g. ID) is remembered going forward.

  • When creating or updating a patient, if you Cancel the changes without making any updates, a confirmation window no longer appears.

  • You can now edit a customized identification type Other - not recommended without deleting and recreating it.

  • In the redesigned Inbox, when you select many user inboxes, added arrows on the right help you to scroll through all the inbox tabs.

  • In the redesigned Inbox, you can now see all Qnaire responses even if category filtering or the category column was previously enabled and then disabled for your account.

  • In a message, when you open the attachment and click Generate PDF (with a cover page selected), the PDF is generated successfully.

  • When you request user activity and access logs you no longer have to confirm your action.

  • You can view the history of an injection entry from the Injections section of a patient chart, and view the activity logs for injection entries in the Recent Activity widget.

  • If you are customizing pathways for your clinic, if there are archived pathways with unarchived phases in your CHR, you can now add transitions between phases in active pathways.

  • When you add a form with an autofill template or create a letter using a template, the template is now applied immediately instead of requiring multiple clicks.

  • CC information now appears correctly on letter PDFs generated through outgoing referrals for users without configured signatures.

  • When you customize the order of columns in the list of Encounters, the order now stays in place after resizing columns.

  • When patients complete self-initiated Qnaires and an answer triggers a new Qnaire, they can access and complete the additional Qnaire.

  • If you have French enabled in your CHR, all Qnaire responses are now displayed in the language selected within the Qnaire, regardless of your currently selected language.

  • PrescribeIT®: When you mark a pharmacy communication as Done, you can no longer change the patient associated with the message.

  • AI-powered inbox: When you modify any field that is auto-populated when creating a new patient, the purple indicator frame and AI icon disappear.

  • Alberta: For patient charts synched with the Client Registry, the deceased date in the CHR is no longer one day earlier than the actual date.

  • Alberta: When attempting to log into Netcare or change your Netcare password with an incorrectly configured Client Registry, a clear error message appears advising you to contact support for configuration assistance.

  • For Quebec patients, the CHR now correctly validates the RAMQ identification number. It also checks the validity of the RAMQ identifier whenever you update the patient's first name, last name, sex, or date of birth.

📌 Note: New CHR versions are released on a regular bi-weekly schedule. However, there are times where a fix is released prior to the next scheduled release. These off-schedule release fixes are documented in the separate off-schedule release notes.
