Patients can view and pay their outstanding bills directly from the patient portal or TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) Connect, depending on the app your clinic is using. The workflow is the same for both.
To allow patients to pay bills, your domain must have:
Set up the Stripe integration. Refer to Configuring Stripe in the CHR.
For the patient portal, enabled Portal Billing. Refer to Enabling the patient portal.
For CHR Connect, enabled View Billing and Self Serve Payments. Refer to TELUS Collaborative Health Record Connect Settings.
Only the TELUS CHR Support account has access to these settings. Contact the TELUS Health support team through the support chat for more information.
After this is configured, the patient can view their outstanding private billing items and make payment accordingly. For the patient portal, refer to Making a credit card payment using the patient portal (for patients).
You can see when a patient has made payment.
Steps
From a patient chart, click Start/ Open > Private Billing.
In the All Payments section, click View Details for a completed bill.
The Continue Payment window appears and you can view payments made next to Paid and in the History section.
💡 Tip: Depending on your configuration, you may see a credit card icon in the History. Click it to view the Stripe receipt. You can use the receipt number to look up the transaction details in your Stripe dashboard.
Click Close when you are finished.
