TELUS Health Connect (for patients)

TELUS Health Connect is a secure app and website that lets you connect with your clinic, manage your appointments, communicate with your provider, and handle your healthcare.

With TELUS Health Connect you can:

  • Connect with new providers in your area.

  • View and update your demographics inclusing your preferred name, gender identity, and pronouns.

  • Book appointments and, if your clinic offers it, pre-pay appointment fees. We integrate with Stripe to process payments securely.

  • View, change, and manage upcoming and historical appointments.

  • Send secure messages and attachments or images to your clinic.

  • View and pay invoices, and securely store credit card details for easy payment processing.

  • Attend secure virtual visits with your provider. Refer to Attending virtual visits through TELUS Health Connect.

  • Complete required tasks during your virtual visit.

Accessing TELUS Health Connect

You can access TELUS Health Connect via the mobile app (cell phone or tablet) or via a website (computer). Refer to Setting up TELUS Health Connect.

If you have multiple clinics on your account, you can switch between them using the My Clinics panel:

  • For desktop users: Use the sidebar on the left.

  • For mobile app users: Select the menu icon (three lines) in the top-left.

Home

Home is your landing page and shows an overview of all your new or actionable items. For example, outstanding invoices or unread messages.

You can click the item to open it without navigating to that specific section.

Your clinic may publish messages in the Broadcast section. These messages are typically generic and not specific to you. To ensure you see these messages, confirm that you have enabled Commercial/marketing consent in your account settings. Refer to TELUS Health Connect account information and preferences.

💡 Tip: For quick actions, click the + icon at the bottom-right corner. For example, New appointment or Find new clinic.

Appointments

You can book appointments, pre-pay appointment fees, view details for past and future appointments, and start a scheduled virtual visit.

You see the following information associated with your appointments.

Field

Description

Upcoming and Previous tabs

Appointments are listed by date.

Type

Shows the appointment date, provider, and type (for example, physical exam or new patient).

Visit Time

Shows the appointment date, time, and length.

Patient

If you link your account with your dependants, their name appears for their appointments. Refer to Linking your TELUS Health Connect account with your dependants (for patients).

Location

Shows Virtual visit or, for physical appointments the location address.

Status

Shows the appointment status, for example, In progress, Checked In or Completed.

If the appointment time has passed, it’s shown as Closed and moves from the Upcoming tab to the Previous tab.

The following buttons and statuses appear for your appointments:

  • Confirmation Required: Click to confirm or decline your appointment.

  • Action required: Click to complete Previsit Questionnaires.

  • View: Click to see more information, cancel or change your appointment, and complete required questionnaires.

  • Join virtual visit: Appears when your provider opens the visit or 5 minutes before the scheduled time. Click to start your visit.

  • Check In: Appears 30 minutes before a physical visit. Click to let your provider know you have arrived

Messages

All messages for you and your dependants appear in the Messages section. You are notified of new messages via your preferred notification method (email, text message, or push notification).

You can send new messages, or reply to an existing message. You can also attach PDF, JPG or PNG files to your message. Once your provider closes the conversation, you can no longer reply.

To send a new message,

  1. Click Compose in the top-right corner.

  2. In the To field, search for and select which provider you want to send a message to.

  3. To add an attachment to your message, click the paperclip icon

  4. Click Send.

📌 Note: Your clinic or specific providers may not allow new messages or replies to certain messages.

In addition, you can write Drafts and view Archived or Sent messages. Messages are never archived automatically; you must click Archive. And you can Restore archived messages if needed.

You can use the filters to view only unread messages, messages sent by a specific provider, or only your messages or the messages of one of your dependants. Use the search field to search for messages.

If your clinic uses broadcast messages, you can view new and old messages in the Broadcast tab. Typically these messages are generic and not specific to you. To ensure you see these messages, confirm that you have Commercial/marketing consent enabled.

Billing

You can easily view and pay your and your dependants’ private bill invoices. To see the full invoice, click it.

You see the following information associated with your invoice.

Field

Description

Outstanding and Paid tabs

Invoices are listed by date.

💡 Tip: To get a copy of an invoice, from the Paid tab, click the invoice and click Request PDF.

Invoice Number

Shows the invoice number and provider.

Patient

If you link your account with your dependants', their name shows for their invoices. Refer to Linking your TELUS Health Connect account with your dependants.

Due Date

Shows when the bill is due.

Status

Shows if the bill is Paid or Unpaid.

Total

Shows the total amount of the bill.

Pay

For unpaid bills, click to pay your bill.

📌 Notes:

  • If your clinic sends claims electronically to your insurers, you may also see paid claims.

  • If your clinic accepts online payments, you can pay your bill here.

  • You can add a payment method to your account so your clinic can easily process payments.

Documents

You can view and complete any questionnaires configured by your clinic. Your clinic will be notified when you complete a questionnaire.

To complete a questionnaire, click it to open it in a new window.

📌 Notes:

  • The Documents section is visible only if your clinic uses this feature.

  • You can complete questionnaires on behalf of any dependents linked to your account.

Profile and Connected Circle

Acccess the Profile and Connected Circle sections via the user menu.

You can view and confirm your demographics. You can update your preferred name, gender, and pronouns.

You can manage your dependents' healthcare by linking to their accounts (refer to Linking your TELUS Health Connect account with your dependents.

When two accounts are linked:

  • The relationship is saved for both accounts.

  • Each person can view the other's linked record(s) from their own profile.

  • Both lists display in order: "Who sees me" and "Who I see".

  • Removing a link removes it from both records simultaneously.

📌 Note: The linked account must be for a minor. The age of majority is 12 in British Columbia, 14 in Quebec, and 16 in the rest of Canada.
