Integrations with Ontario Health services

Updated over 2 weeks ago

⚠️ Important: This is currently a beta feature, available to a few CHR beta users in order to test and provide feedback. It will be available to more users once the beta period is complete.

From the CHR, you can easily access provincial integration services such as ClinicalConnect, Ontario's Digital Health Drug Repository (DHDR), eForms and more. You launch the provincial integration service viewer from a patient's chart and log in using your eHealth Ontario ONE ID account (refer to “Logging into provincial integration services”). The selected service then opens in a separate viewer window.

Requirements to access Ontario Health services

Before you can access the services from the CHR, you need the following:

  • A ONE® ID from Ontario Health

  • A client information form for Ontario Health.

Contact your OMD Advisor or support@ontariomd.com to begin the registration process. OntarioMD will begin your registration process, and Ontario Health will then execute your end-user agreements before TELUS Health completes your final configuration.

Available integrations

ClinicalConnect

ClinicalConnect is a secure, web-based clinical viewer that provides access to a patient's electronic medical information from hospitals, Community Care Access Centres (CCACs) and oncology centres in southwest Ontario. Using ClinicalConnect, you can access a patient's hospital visits, lab results, consult reports, oncology reports and more. For more information, refer to Viewing ClinicalConnect from the CHR.

Digital Health Drug Repository

The DHDR gives you access to a patient's dispensed medication information, including publicly-funded drugs, monitored drugs, as well as COVID-19 vaccination information from the provincial COVaxON system. For more information, refer to Viewing the Digital Health Drug Repository from the CHR.

eForms

eForms are digital forms that you can complete and submit electronically by accessing them directly from a patient's chart. The eForms are automatically populated with the patient's and provider's information, saving you time.

For more information about eForms and to sign up, refer to Ontario Health's eForms website.

For more information about accessing eForms from the CHR, refer to Accessing the OH eForms service.

eReports

You can access the Cancer Care Ontario Screening Activity Report (SAR) and the COVaxON Aggregate Primary Care Vaccination Report directly from the CHR.

The SAR provides data for breast, cervical, and colorectal screening to help physicians improve their cancer screening rates and appropriate follow-up.

The COVaxON Vaccination Report includes patients who have received COVID-19 vaccinations, along with the type and date of vaccination, and any symptoms immediately following vaccination.

For more information, refer to Viewing eReports.

OTNHub eConsults

The OTNhub eConsult service is a secure, web-based tool for healthcare providers in Ontario that provides timely access to specialist advice for patient-specific inquiries, often eliminating the need for an in-person visit. For more information, refer to Using OTNHub eConsults.
