Improvements

Seeing the exact date messages were sent to patients

When viewing the Messages section of a patient’s chart, the Date field now shows the exact date the message was sent instead of, for example 5 months ago. You no longer need to hover over the field to see the exact date.

Improvements to deleting allergies

When you delete an allergy, a new Delete permanently window appears. From here you can review the allergy details and select a reason for deletion.

📌 Note: You cannot restore a deleted data point.

When you delete an allergy, a blue banner appears indicating that something was modified. You can access the deleted allergy by clicking Open activity log in the blue banner. The activity log for this action is now improved to show the relevant details, including who deleted the allergy and the allergy information.

For more information, refer to Recording patient allergies.

Health Profile diagnostic codes hidden in areas that are not pertinent

When viewing Health Profile items, such as Medical History or Surgical History and the item has a linked diagnostic code, the diagnostic code is no longer visible in the health profile section of the chart, patient summary, or in templates pulling in health profile information via data variables.

You can still see the diagnosis code when you select a health profile item to view the details.

Since you use diagnostic codes mainly for billing, we removed them from areas within the patient chart that do not directly relate to billing.

Patient portal notifications rebranded to TELUS Collaborative Health Record

We updated the default text for portal message notifications from InputHealth to TELUS Collaborative Health Record. Any customized notifications are not affected.

Quickly search for providers when creating referrals

When creating Incoming, Internal or Outgoing Referrals, and selecting the Service Provider, Ordering Provider or patient the cursor is now automatically placed in the Search field, saving you an additional click.

Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario: New and improved diagnosis code template

You can now switch to a more modern default diagnosis template. The listed codes remain the same, however the descriptions and terminology are updated to match today's standards, making them easier to find.

Switching to a new Default Diagnosis Template is optional and does not affect existing data in the CHR. If you update to the new codes you have to update your ICD code favourites as well.

To start using the new default diagnosis template for your province go to Settings > Templates > Encounter and under Default Diagnosis Template select the new template for your province: BC Diagnostic List, AB Diagnostic List or ON Diagnostic List.

Alberta: Adding a default Functional Centre

You can now include a default functional centre in a provider's HLink setup. To configure your functional centre, go to Settings > Billing > under Public Billing Providers and click the Alberta HLink integration to edit it. In the Functional Centre field, search for and select a functional centre.

When you are creating a bill, the Functional Centre field now pre-populates with your default functional centre but can be changed.

British Columbia: Adding multiple payee numbers

You can now add up to five payee numbers to a provider's Teleplan billing setup. This is helpful for locums who are covering for different providers.

To configure your payee numbers go to Settings > Billing, under Public Billing Providers click the Teleplan integration to edit it. In the Payee Numbers field add the payee numbers, separated by commas.

When you create a bill, click the default payee number to view the additional numbers.

British Columbia: Integrating Northern Health Authority labs with your CHR account

You can now integrate BC’s Northern Health Authority (NHA) labs with your CHR account. Viewing and managing NHA labs is the same as the other labs available in the CHR; for more information refer to Viewing electronic lab reports.

To configure your NHA integration and start receiving lab reports, refer to Integrating British Columbia’s Northern Health Authority (NHA) labs with your CHR account.

Ontario: Integrating Alpha, Med-Health and Bio-Test Labs with your CHR account

You can now integrate with three new lab vendors in Ontario. Viewing and managing these labs is the same as the other labs available in the CHR; for more information refer to Viewing electronic lab reports.

To configure your integration and start receiving lab reports, refer to:

Ontario: Fee items with percentage codes show the billed amount

When creating bills with percentage codes, such as a 30% after hours fee, the correct billed amount shows in the billing item and under Billed Amount in the Insured Payments section. When the claim is returned from MDBilling the claim now shows as Paid and not Adjusted.

Role-based access: Permissions for injections

For clinics with role-based access control (RBAC) enabled, you can now set specific user permissions for injections. This improves data security and privacy for patients while providing more flexibility to create customized roles and access levels for users.

The new Injections permissions you can set are All, List, Read, Create, Update and Archive. Previously access to injections was controlled by the Patients permission. So that no functionality is lost, all users with the Patients permission now automatically have the corresponding Injections permission. For more information, refer to Role permission options (role-based access control).
