Customizing clinic-wide eBooking and scheduling settings

You can set a default value for eBooking and scheduling options for your clinic. These defaults apply to all appointment types, schedules and locations, if configured. In some cases, you can customize these settings for each appointment type.

Steps

  1. From the main menu, click Settings > Scheduling > Extra.

  2. Customize your settings using the following table as a reference.

Setting

Description

Holiday Template

The default list of statutory holidays that appears in the schedule.

You can book appointments on these days, however patients cannot. Refer to Allowing patients to request appointments online on statutory holidays.

To change your default, select the country and province.

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: Some countries do not have preset holidays. If you do not want default holidays, you can select one of these countries, such as Yemen.

Patient can change appointments

To allow patients to change or reschedule appointments online, select Enable. Refer to Allowing patients to change or cancel their appointments online.

Patient can cancel appointments

To allow patients to cancel appointments online, select Enable. Refer to Allowing patients to change or cancel their appointments online.

Display Presenting Issue Selection (eBooking)

To require patients to select a primary reason for their visit (presenting issue), select Enable.

Request Appointment Time Changes

If you allow patients to change their appointments, set how much notice your patients must give to reschedule their appointments. Refer to Allowing patients to change or cancel their appointments online.

Patient Cancellations

If you have online cancellations enabled, set how much notice your patients must give when cancelling their appointments. Refer to Allowing patients to change or cancel their appointments online.

Verify Existing Patients

To require patients to verify their identity when they self-book appointments through your appointment site, select Yes. Refer to Requiring patients to verify their identity when accessing the appointment booking site (eBooking).

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: We recommend selecting Yes.

Show Map and Address on Appointment Letter

This setting applies to the entire domain. If enabled, the clinic address information appears on all appointment letters.

Provider's Identity Display Option

If you require your patients to select a provider when they self-book appointments through your CHR eBooking site (refer to Setting which provider(s) patients can book certain appointment types with when self-booking appointments), you select how providers display to patients: Name or Initial, Avatar or Name (or Initial) with Avatar. Refer to Setting provider display options for eBooking.

Enable "Skip Qnaire for Now" (eBooking)

When patients self-book appointment types that require pre-visit Qnaires be completed, to allow patients to skip the Qnaires during the booking process, select Enable. Refer to Allowing patients to skip pre-visit Qnaires when they self-book appointments.

๐Ÿ“Œ Note: If you are using TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) Connect, this option is always enabled.

Filter schedule with available or booked appointments

You can use the Toggle auto-practitioners filter icon (magnet icon) in the schedule to see only the schedules of providers who are working that day, i.e. they have availability or appointments booked.

To make the magnet icon available in the schedule, select Enable.

Appointment End Time Display Option

Choose whether to enter the end time or use preset durations when booking appointments in the schedule.

Select either Time or Duration.

For more information, refer to Booking appointments.

Custom Disclaimer

To add a disclaimer to the top of the Information page of your appointment booking site, click Add Disclaimer.

3. Click Submit.

4. Refresh your browser for the changes to take effect.
