Improvements

Accessing growth charts from encounter notes

You can now view, send, and print a growth chart directly from your encounter notes. This allows you to quickly access and review growth information without leaving the encounter note.

In the Examination section, click Growth chart. The appropriate height/weight chart opens automatically based on your patient's gender and age.

📌Note: The Growth chart button only appears if you have weight and height/length saved in the patient’s chart.

You can still generate a Head Circumference and BMI for Age PDF from the patient’s dashboard Growth chart widget.

Recording obstetrical history (GTPAL) in Health Profile

You can now record an overview of your patient's obstetrical history in the Health Profile's Obstetrical Care section in the form of GTPAL (Gravida, Term, Preterm, Abortus, Living) and other values.

In the Quick Menu or the Start/Open menu, select Health Profile and expand the Obstetrical Care section.

To document values, click anywhere below the column headings and the Obstetrical history window opens. Type a number in any of the fields and click Save.

📌Note: You cannot create multiple entries. You can only update the values. To view the changes, in the Actions column, click the history icon.

For more information, refer to Recording obstetrical history (GTPAL).

Auto-filling forms with obstetrical history information

You can configure your forms to auto-populate obstetrical history information (GTPAL values) from the Health Profile.

In Settings > Templates > Form, open an existing form and select a text box or checkbox. For the Auto Fill Configuration, select Health Profile. Click the gear icon, select Obstetrical care record, and then select the GTPAL variable and the Visible Data.

Collecting health profile social history data using Qnaires

You can now collect Health Profile > Social History information using form questions in Qnaires.

When configuring a form question in a Qnaire, select the new Health Profile option in the Base Patient Data Property list. You can then choose data points such as Smoking, Alcohol, Recreational Drugs, and more.

For more information, refer to Adding form question types to Qnaires.

Auto-suggesting patient charts when merging

When you merge patient charts, the system now finds all the potential duplicates. This makes it easier to find and combine duplicate records accurately.

The CHR finds matches based on Identification, Date of Birth, Sex, First Name, and Last Name. When one or more patients are detected, you can see how the patient was matched. A confidence rating of High, Medium, or Low is shown. Hover over the rating to see what search criteria the patient was matched on.

For more information, refer to Merging patient charts.

📌Note: You can still manually search for patients.

Improved user list loading and searching

In Settings > Account information > Users, you can now quickly find active or deactivated users with the new search bar above your list of users.

If your clinic has over 50 users, the system now loads users as you scroll, improving performance.

Improvements to patient name display and demographics snapshots

As part of our ongoing improvements to patient information display, we've updated how patient names and demographics snapshots appear throughout the CHR:

  • In the All Patients list, patient names reflect your name format preference (set in your user preferences).

  • In the All Patients list, when you hover your cursor over a patient's name, you see the demographics snapshot.

  • Demographics snapshots now only appear when you hover your cursor directly over a patient's name text rather than the surrounding area. This gives you better control and reduces accidental pop-ups.

  • For restricted charts, the demographic snapshot now consistently displays essential identifying information across the CHR, maintaining patient privacy while providing necessary details.

Improved healthcare directory search results

For clinics using the Healthcare Directory, when searching for healthcare providers in the CHR, exact name matches now appear at the top of the results list. If searching from a patient’s chart, providers are further sorted based on their proximity to the patient's location. The search also better handles partial names and provides consistent results in line with the Healthcare Directory’s. These improvements help you find the right healthcare provider more efficiently in the CHR.

Streamlining document management with the AI-powered inbox management feature

The CHR AI-powered inbox management feature automatically matches incoming faxes and uploaded files to patient charts using criteria such as identification, date of birth, sex, first name, and last name. This feature can split multi-patient documents, suggest file names and document owners, and add new patients to your CHR when no match is found.

This feature reduces manual work and improves efficiency in managing documents. For more information, refer to CHR AI-powered: Managing incoming documents.

Additionally, a monitoring tool allows clinics to track time savings and usage of AI-powered features. Refer to CHR AI-powered: Monitoring feature usage.

📌 Note: There is a monthly fee for this feature based on usage. Contact the TELUS Health Sales team for more information (refer to Contact us).

New Brunswick: Adding out-of-province referring practitioners to bills

When billing for patients referred by out-of-province physicians, when adding billing items to a bill, in the Referring Practitioner field, you can now search for and select the code 25734 - Out of Province Referring Practitioner. This allows you to accurately submit bills for patients referred from outside New Brunswick.

Fixes

  • When searching for diagnostic codes in the Assessment and Plan section of an encounter, the diagnostic code list no longer disappears behind the patient header and remains fully visible and accessible.

  • When splitting documents between a large number of patients, the multi-document window now efficiently manages multiple patient tabs and includes new arrow controls at the top to navigate to additional tabs.

  • The demographics snapshot now appears instantly when you hover over the coloured bar of the left side of an appointment, without requiring additional cursor movement.

  • The Next appointment displayed in the patient header when viewing patient files is now correct.

  • When viewing Qnaire responses from your Inbox, you can see the patient's full name when you hover over the Qnaire icon in the bottom dock.

  • When you attach a file from a patient chart, export, or print the patient chart, only the most recent version of forms with tables is included.

  • When you split a document, the file name and owner you set before editing the document are saved successfully.

  • After you book a new appointment from the Next tab in an existing appointment, the schedule displays all existing appointments without requiring a manual refresh.

  • When you click +Add in the schedule and only flexible working hours are available for an appointment type, you now see this appointment type in an active state.

  • When you update patient files, the Description field now correctly handles text copied from Word documents.

📌 Note: New CHR versions are released on a regular bi-weekly schedule. However, there are times where a fix is released prior to the next scheduled release. These off-schedule release fixes are documented in the separate off-schedule release notes.
