Configuring account insured billing defaults and settings

TELUS Collaborative Health Record (CHR) has a number of configurable billing settings and defaults. These are clinic-wide settings where the changes you make affect all users in your domain. For user specific settings refer to Customizing your insured payment settings.

For private billing settings, refer to Configuring your private billing settings.

Steps

  1. From the main menu, navigate to Settings > Billing.

  2. Use the below table to update the settings as required.

Setting

Description

Billing item template

Choose the default billing template for your account.

This is the payment issuer, and fee code list that pulls into your claims. Typically your province specific template is selected, for example OHIP (Ontario) or MSP(BC).

Click the gear icon to create a custom billing template. For more information refer to, Creating third-party and private billing templates.

Outstanding balance calculation

Select which billing types (Both, Private or Public) to include in the patient's outstanding balance.

You can choose to show the amount they owe in the chart header. For more information refer to, Showing or hiding patient balance due in the chart header.

Public billing providers

Providers can configure their province specific billing integration.

Public Billing Settings

Select your default billing status (Draft or Ready).The default billing status is applied when you create an insured billing item. For more information, refer to Changing your default billing status.

Private Billing Providers

Configure your Stripe integration. For more information refer to, Configuring Stripe in the CHR.

Payment Tags

Create Payment Tags, these can be added to insured and private bills. You can use these to filer the billing dashboard. For more information, refer to Creating Payment tags.
